Alan Jackson Concert

On Friday afternoon we both took a half a day off so we could head to Hobbs to see Alan Jackson and Aaron Watson in concert that evening.  Hobbs is only a little over an hour away, but we wanted to make sure we'd have time to go to dinner and stop at a few shops while we were in the area, without having to be in a rush.

I hadn't been back to Hobbs in about 2 years, so we decided to stop by the Halliburton yard that I worked at while I lived there.  Holy crap, it seems like everything has changed.  I absolutely loved my job, but once Graham and I got serious I knew I'd have to move to Artesia if I wanted a shot at forever.  Of course I'm so glad I took that leap, but it was really hard leaving the people that had basically been my family for 3 years!  Back then, I worked all the time so every body I knew in that town were people I worked with.  The building that my office was in isn't even there anymore, and the employees have all transferred to other locations or were laid off.  Although it was difficult leaving at the time, I just know that it was all part of God's great plan for my life!  I was able to catch up with one of my fav people, Cecilia.  It was nice to reminisce and hear about here cute little family, as well as show off my cute baby bump!  =)

Along with visiting came this pregnant girl's favorite past time - eating!  We stopped by one of my old favorite diners, Holidaze to get our grub on.  I had the chicken friend chicken sandwich and man-oh-man was it good!!

After dinner we headed over to the event center to check out the concert.  We were actually more excited to see Aaron Watson, who was opening up for Alan.  Aaron has been making music for years, but is mostly only know around the Texas Country scene.  We'd seen him a few times before, but couldn't miss an opportunity to see him so close to home.  Alan Jackson put on a great show, which included mostly his 90's stuff... which has always been my fav.  It was so nice to get away for the evening with my sweet husband.  I know those nights will happen less often once Baby comes!

My sad swollen feet after the concert!  =(

On Saturday we went downtown to see the cars in the annual car show.  It was such a beautiful spring day to do so!  The rest of the weekend was spent watering and raking the lawn, doing household chores, and just spending some time together.  It was a very much needed, relaxing weekend.
