26 Weeks!

Baby Guy
*The length of a green onion
*14 inches long
*1.75lbs
98 days to go!

Holy crap we're at the point in the countdown to where we have less than 100 days to go!  I'm at 26 weeks today and am in the last week of my second trimester.  I swear it felt like the first trimester took a year and I blinked and the second trimester was gone!

I have an OB appointment Thursday afternoon and hopefully will find out when our next (and probably final) ultrasound will be - I live to see that little girl moving around on the screen!  I've been feeling great, but get tired easier, which is to be expected I suppose.

We've decided not to go with an actual theme for her nursery.  We'll be using colors in turquoise, pink, and red.  I've found a really cute blanket, as well as some cute wall decor in those colors on Etsy.  The fact that the Sono tech said she "thinks" Baby Guy is a girl at the last appointment still has me on edge a little bit.  I don't want to order a bunch of decor for a nursery based on a hunch, so the nursery just may have to be one of the last things we get done.  Hopefully it doesn't stress me out waiting until the end, but I'm not sure how else to handle it.

We'd been attending a home group meeting with members of our church and Graham's fam for the last 8 months or so, and we've decided to step back and take a break from it.  With about 3 months to go until we meet our little one, we just really want to spend more time together.  This is time we won't get back and we're excited to take advantage of it!  We also have a few projects around the yard that we want to get done before she arrives as well... and before it gets too freaking hot!

We're heading to Texas in a few weeks to see my family and I can't wait.  We haven't been since January and I am so looking forward to spending some time with them.  I'm hoping my sister will get to be off while we're there too!

Please keep our little family in your prayers!

Easter 2014

We spent Easter at The Guy's this year, out on the farm.  It was nice to get together for an awesome meal, time with family, and getting to see the little ones hunt their eggs!  It was really such a gorgeous, spring day!!

Here are some pics, pics, and more pics!  =)

25 Weeks!

Baby Guy
*The size of a rutabaga
*13.5 inches long
*1.5 lbs
105 days to go!

I'm 25 weeks today and am still feeling pretty good considering how big I'm getting.  I have been noticing that I get tired easier and bending over to pick things up is becoming a chore.  We worked in the yard fertilizing and planting flowers throughout the last week and I often had to just sit down and take a break.  I listen to my body though and when I feel like I need to, I rest.

I'm pretty much at the point that I can't paint my own toes anymore, at least without cutting off my air supply for lengthy periods, so I've been getting monthly pedicures.  Not only does it look nice now that I can pretty much only wear sandals, but it feels absolutely amazing to have my legs and feet massaged after being swollen for so long!  I've never been one to constantly spend money on stuff like that, but screw it - I'm all about feeling good at this point!

Saturday we went to Roswell to finish registering for baby items at Target.  I had started an online registry, but there were some things I didn't want to put on there until I could see it first in person.  Plus it was nice for Graham to be involved more too - he loved it!  I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to register at any other stores, because people will likely just buy what they want to anyways and also because Target had pretty much everything else I wanted!  I'll likely order a few things from some Etsy shops, including decor for the nursery and a diaper bag though.

We did end up purchasing her crib, but it'll be a few more weeks until we get it set up.  I'm planning on having a yard sale in the middle of May and as of now all of that stuff is sitting in the middle of nursery floor.  It'll just be easier to work in there once we get everything sold/given away.  I also plan on painting an accent wall in there, so we may wait to put the crib up until that's done too.  Same ol', same ol' - hurry up and wait!

Baby girl has been kicking up a storm and I'm starting to notice it moving closer to my ribs.  Before the movement was always felt in my lower belly, below my belly button.  It's such a crazy feeling, but I love it and so far it doesn't hurt.  I think we've pretty much decided on a name but are uncertain if we want to tell family and friends now or wait until we see her pretty face.  I'm so up in the air on everything!

Please keep my little family in your prayers.  It's so hard to believe I've only got 15 weeks left!

24 Weeks!

Baby Guy
*The length of an ear of corn
*12.5 inches long
*1.25lbs
112 days to go!

I'm 24 weeks today and have been really enjoying the energy I've had in my second trimester.  We spent the weekend planting plants and flowers in various beds and planters in the yard.  The hardest part was bending over, which makes it kind of hard to breathe at this point.  The weather has been in the mid 70's, so that's made it a lot easier - I doubt I'll be as rambuctious to be outside once we're seeing triple digits on a regular basis in a month or so!  We still have some flowers and a tree to plant in the front yard, as well as plans to buy a few more plants for other beds that we haven't got to yet.

I've been getting quite a bit of flack for not being "prepared" at this stage, but to be honest I don't plan on purchasing a whole lot until after the baby shower.  There are tons of gadgets and things that companies make you think you need for baby's arrival, but I just don't think our little one is going to care whether I had her nursery done at week 15 or week 39.  The most important thing is that we have the basics covered by the time she arrives.  Besides it's so beautiful outside this time of year that I'd rather enjoy some gardening or 4-wheeler cruising.  I'll have plenty of time in June and July when the summer heat is miserable to stay inside and decorate.

I had a horrible stomach bug on Friday that had me home hugging the toilet for a day, but other than that I've felt really great.  The swelling in my feet has been a little better for the last 4 days or so and I'm definitely relieved.  My dreams are still crazy and very vivid, and my hormones are raging!  I can feel myself being very snappy, especially with the guys at work, so I'm trying my best to just keep my mouth shut and stay to myself.  Graham said he hasn't really noticed me treating him different, and quite frankly that's all I care about! =)

Baby girl has been moving tons more and it's to the point that I can feel her numerous times a day.  Graham hasn't been lucky enough to feel any of them yet, but I have a feeling it's coming!  It's such a strange feeling to be working and then all of a sudden feel a tiny little jab just below my belly button - it definitely makes me stop and pay attention!

I'm looking forward to working on the yard more this week and Graham has plans to take me to dinner on Friday night for my birthday.  Life is good!

23 Weeks!

Baby Guy
*The size of a large mango
*11.5 inches long
*1.1 lbs
119 days to go

I'm 23 weeks today and still feeling really good!  The biggest news of the week was that we found out IT'S A GIRL!.  I'm ecstatic, but it still feels like it's going to be such a long time before we get to meet her.

The appointment went great and the dr. said everything is looking like it should.  We had a different ultrasound tech this time and I could tell that all of my questions were annoying her, but other than that we had an awesome visit.   The tech said that she was "pretty sure" it's a girl, which at first made both my husband and I question the likelihood of whether that would indeed be true.  We asked the dr afterwards and he said that in the 22 years he'd worked there that they had only been wrong 8 times and that he was pretty sure if she couldn't tell, that she would've just said so.  That eased our minds a bit, but we're both pretty much in the mindset that we will find out for sure when the baby comes!

We decided at the last moment that we wouldn't be doing a gender reveal party afterall.  I'd been obsessing about making the decision for weeks and I finally just decided that although it would be fun, I just really didn't want to mess with it.  It made me sad knowing that my Texas family wouldn't be able to be there and that we would be spending lots of money on something that wouldn't really even benefit the baby.  Not to mention that this month will be crazy busy with our families on spring break vacations, my birthday, a planned trip to Lubbock, and us wanting to start planting some flowers.  I didn't feel like adding one more thing to the list...

Day to day life has pretty much been the same - swollen feet and ankles, confusing dreams, just about peeing myself at any given moment, and really wanting a margarita.  I'm enjoying my pregnancy, but I'm ready to meet my little sweetheart already.  17 more weeks!
