Weekend Ramblin's

Graham was actually off this weekend, which doesn't happen very often!

Saturday
We started our day with Jackson's baseball game.  We've had such a good time the last couple of months getting to watch him play.  It's definitely always a family affair, with Graham's mom and grandparents normally at every game.

Afterwards we tried out the new cupcake bakery in town, "Encore Cupcakes".  Artesia doesn't have any bakeries, so it's exactly what this place needs!  We tried the 'Kahlua' and 'The Churro'.  They both were amazing, but all the caramel in the churro one definitely made it an easy favorite for me!

We decided last minute to check out "Iron Man 3" and it definitely did not disappoint.  Graham got me interested in the series when we first met, those types of movies aren't usually my thing.

Graham grilled us up some elk burgers that evening and we hung out with the dogs outside for the remainder of the night.

Sunday
Our morning started with donuts and church; two pretty perfect combinations for a beautiful Sunday mornin'.  Pretty ironic that in the pictures below I started off with donuts, but I fed Annie a banana.

The weather was gorgeous so we decided to get in some 4-wheeler time at the river.  We visited the river for a bit and then decided to check out some new areas so we headed south.  I found a cow skull that I'm going to paint a pretty pink or turquoise (can't decide) for yard decor.

I also quickly discovered that I had spent far too long outside without any sunscreen on.  My thighs, shoulders, and arms are a bright shade of lobster.  You would think that after being ridiculously fair complected for 28 years that wouldn't be something I'd forget to do.  Apparently so...

We got home and Graham cut me up some watermelon while I cooked him up some asado for his burritos for the week.  Graham drank some beer while relaxing outside and I tended to the asado and ate some watermelon.  Pretty soon I heard Graham calling my name outside; he had just killed the first snake so far this year.  I got some flack on FB, since it was a "harmless" snake... well to me a good snake is a dead snake.  Period.

On another note, Miss Rossi came back to grab some grub a few times this weekend.  She's had her kittens somewhere pretty close to the house, but we're not sure where yet.  I'm just glad she's coming back to eat.  Before too long, she'll be bringing her babies to come grub too.  At least I hope she does!
